Founded in 1956, our family-owned business, Pleasure Pools™, began its journey under the visionary leadership of Gerald Bishop. Initially created as a home construction company, it offered a unique opportunity for a group of college students to fund their education. Gerald’s innovative spirit shone through when one of his spec homes, distinguished by an in-ground swimming pool for the local builders’ association “Parade of Homes,” garnered overwhelming public interest. This unexpected pivot marked the beginning of our specialization in pool construction, far beyond the home itself.

By 1959, Gerald’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the manufacturing of swimming pool panels, liners, and essential components, setting the stage for a nationwide distribution of prefab pool kits by 1965. We quickly became a name synonymous with quality and innovation, distributing to independent dealers across 28 states.

The legacy of innovation and family-oriented business continued to thrive under the stewardship of Gerald’s son, Jeff, and his wife, Bobbi, who, in 2010, expanded their reach into southern Kentucky and middle Tennessee. Their commitment to excellence and community service laid a strong foundation for the future.

In 2017, the family tradition was further enriched as Jeff and Bobbi’s eldest daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Anthony Darrell, joined the team. Under their guidance, we continue to flourish, honoring its roots while embracing the future. As a family business, we are deeply committed to providing our clients with unmatched outdoor living experiences.
